Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a leading authority on environmental matters, advising management and technical staff on the latest developments and their implications for design, construction, engineering, mining, and facility operations.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges, proposing directions, setting objectives, and implementing comprehensive environmental programs. Prepare reports and documentation to support your findings and recommendations.
  • Effectively communicate your advice and proposed solutions, providing compelling rationale for major environmental decisions based on the IFC PS-6 Mitigation Hierarchy.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to professional and technical staff on technical issues and impact assessment processes.
  • Lead teams and serve as a Subject Matter Expert in conducting studies and investigations to resolve specific environmental problems, providing technical and environmental recommendations.
  • Conduct gap analyses and plan necessary studies to support regulatory submissions and approvals at both federal and provincial levels.
  • Review environmental program reports to ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Coordinate the environmental assessment process for project developments, engaging with government agencies, stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and consultants. Facilitate negotiations and resolutions of complex environmental issues, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and promoting sustainable practices.
  • Leverage your understanding of external agencies and individuals to develop contracts that meet technical requirements, ensuring high-quality deliverables within agreed-upon timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies, providing expert advice and guidance on environmental matters. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in environmental consulting, impact assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
