About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Analyst to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Population Health Observatory, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality health services to our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and collate regional health assessment and surveillance data, using analytic reporting tools to retrieve data, design reports, and summarize health information.
  • Data Management: Acquire data from various sources, including online resources and requests from other departments, regional, provincial, and national agencies.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Facilitate the preparation of data requests, performing duties such as extracting, linking, manipulating, analyzing, and summarizing data for internal and external partners.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Use ArcGIS, ArcCatalog, and other relevant spatial software to create, organize, and maintain geographic maps, and conduct geospatial data analysis and create GIS maps.
  • Data Security and Quality: Monitor and ensure the quality and integrity of data from various public health information systems, and advise on data issues to ensure data used for analysis or distributed to stakeholders is of the highest quality.
  • System Development and Maintenance: Plan system development, enhancement, and maintenance by evaluating existing and emerging data collection/analysis technology, and execute project plans for implementation in a timely manner.
  • Documentation and Communication: Prepare and maintain documentation and reports, such as user guides, data collection procedure manuals, metadata, code documentation, data security policies, and data dictionaries, and participate on internal and external committees as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Health Sciences, Statistics, or related field, plus three to five years' recent related technical experience with health information and data analysis, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Competencies: Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring, and Courageous, and creates the conditions for people to succeed.
  • Professional/Technical Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to use a variety of software applications, including GIS, R, SAS, Tableau, to analyze and visualize health information.
