The House of Commons Administration is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and services to Members of Parliament and officials. As a key member of the Office of the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel, you will work closely with Senior Counsel and Team Leaders to deliver comprehensive and timely legal advice on complex issues related to constitutional law, parliamentary law, administrative law, contracts and procurement, privacy law, and employment law. Key responsibilities include providing strategic and timely legal advice, leveraging diversity and promoting individual growth, and contributing to the democratic law-making process. The ideal candidate will possess a law degree from a recognized university, membership in good standing with the Bar of a Canadian province or territory, and experience in providing expert legal advice on public law issues. Additional qualifications include knowledge of contract law and procurement law, employment law, and parliamentary law. The successful candidate will be bilingual and possess a linguistic profile of CCC.
