Job Title: Metal Fabrication Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team at Platinum Railing Awning & Metal Works Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in the fabrication of metal products, including operating metal cleaning equipment, immersing metal products in cleaning solutions, and assisting structural steel and platework fitters.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in the fabrication process.
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials to ensure efficient production.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Load and unload vehicles to facilitate the transportation of metal products.
  • Polish metal products to a mirror finish to meet customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret work orders to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
Requirements:
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent employment with a 35 to 40 hour workweek.
  • English language proficiency.
