Position Overview:
- Conducts routine vehicle servicing and upkeep
- Executes preventive maintenance tasks
- Handles intricate repairs with minimal assistance
- Identifies and resolves complex mechanical and electronic issues independently
- Engages in remote troubleshooting with RCRC and clients to ascertain optimal solutions for roadside emergencies
- Guides and instructs fellow technicians on maintenance and repair protocols
- Mentors and develops junior technicians
- Consults with shop management and peers on repair strategies
- Performs maintenance duties within the facility
- Utilizes essential features of the Shop Management System and available electronic documentation
- Adheres to all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance standards (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Undertakes additional support tasks as necessary to enhance operations, including Service Island assistance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory
- 310T certification is essential
- A valid Driver's License is required (Class G2 or higher)
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in advanced mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty machinery
- Exceptional mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in advanced diagnostics, overhauling, and repairing all vehicle systems and components
- Capable of performing entry-level tasks and conducting road tests as needed
- Adept at comprehending and interpreting communicated information
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Highly reliable and meticulous
- Willingness to be on-call and work shifts/weekends
- Ability to foster and maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels (peers, teams, clients, supervisors)
- Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment with self-motivation
- Skilled in multitasking, highly organized, with excellent time management capabilities
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up practices
