Clinical Genomics Technologist I

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Genomics Technologist I to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing lab services for diagnostic purposes to support clinical care as well as academic and research needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform PCR (including RT-PCR and fluorescent PCR) and sequencing, MLPA, RAD, Microarray, and NGS analysis
- Operate and maintain common laboratory equipment/instruments
- Conduct QA/QC procedures and documentation
- Perform duties in compliance with established operational policies, procedures, and protocols and in accordance with safety guidelines and legislation pertaining to healthcare
- Currently enrolled in, or graduate of, a recognized Clinical Genetics Technology program
- Experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and/or Microarray techniques preferred
- Valid Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technology (NSCMLT) license or eligibility required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective problem-solving, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collaborative team environment
