Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Fund Development and Communications to join our client's team. This is a unique opportunity to lead the development, management, and oversight of fundraising, donor relations, funding applications, and communications plans.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to Fund Development & Communications staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  2. Development Planning: Create and implement a development plan aligned with strategic goals, ensuring the organization's growth and success.
  3. Fundraising Programs: Develop and oversee all fundraising programs, including corporate sponsorships, donor relationships, and government and foundation fund development.
  4. Special Events: Plan and oversee special event fundraising activities, such as sponsorships, galas, and runs.
  5. Donor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, ensuring their needs are met and their contributions are valued.
  6. Government and Foundation Fund Development: Manage relationships, contracts, and reporting processes with government and foundation funders.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Executive Director to identify new funding opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, and communications, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  3. Skills: Excellent interpersonal and relational skills, with the ability to work with donors, funders, volunteers, staff, and board members. Proficiency in donor database software and digital communication tools.
  4. Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the issues impacting women in the DTES, including gender-based violence, mental health, substance use, and housing.
What We Offer

Our client offers a competitive salary range of $97,000 to $113,000 per annum, with full benefits and a pension. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of women in need.
