Operations Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Operations and Area Managers to ensure the successful execution of our operations objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and Lean techniques to drive business results and improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee the overall safety, quality, and performance of Inbound and Outbound operations, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Set clear expectations and measure performance, providing feedback and holding team members accountable for their results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
- Ensure best practices are shared across departments, shifts, and the network.
- Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of experience with Amazon.
- 7+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
- Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
- Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination.
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field and an MBA.
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and to use good judgment in stressful situations. The successful candidate will be able to lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each, regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head, and walk in the FC and around the area with great frequency. The ability to work in a construction/distribution environment that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, and not air-conditioned is also required.
