Your Role:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and identify any defects or malfunctions.
  • Effectively adjust and repair/replace faulty components or systems to restore equipment to its original manufacturing specifications.
  • Verify the seamless operation of repaired equipment after completion of repairs.
  • Play a key role in commissioning new equipment, ensuring it meets all operational standards.
  • Maintain meticulous inventory records for service trucks and ensure their regular maintenance.
  • Accurately document time sheets, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, customer needs, products, and best technical practices.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as required to support the team's objectives.

Health and Safety:

  • Adhere strictly to all safety policies, regulations, or relevant government, client, or industry requirements.
  • Proactively identify and report any hazardous work habits, workplace incidents, and/or near misses. Conduct a 'Take 5' risk assessment before each task.
  • Maintain hand tools and equipment in excellent condition for safe operation.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety rule requirements.
  • Actively participate in environmental, health, and safety training programs.
  • Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for each assigned task.

Your Qualifications:

  • Possess a diploma or certificate in a relevant field (mechanical/electrical) or equivalent experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Hold a Red Seal certification, if applicable.
  • Demonstrate five (5) years of proven experience working with surface mining equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English is an asset.
  • Prior experience with Sandvik equipment or products is highly advantageous.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Possess the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems.
