Overview: Southbridge Care Homes is seeking dedicated individuals from Thunder Bay and surrounding areas who are passionate about advancing their careers in healthcare. As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will play a vital role in enhancing the management and quality of nursing practices, adhering to the standards established by regulatory bodies and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering outstanding resident care while adhering to established protocols and physician directives.
- Monitoring, documenting, and reporting vital signs, symptoms, and resident conditions, and implementing necessary health interventions.
- Coordinating and overseeing care-related functions and activities for residents.
- Assisting in the supervision of nursing and personal care staff.
- Facilitating the training and professional growth of new team members, addressing concerns with the Director of Care.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Bilingualism in English and French is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A genuine passion for providing care to seniors.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Previous experience in long-term care is beneficial, with a solid understanding of responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to consider the overall perspective.
