Position Overview

The Controller plays a pivotal role in guiding the finance team and managing all functions within the finance department. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the finance department to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reporting and controls.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to our core values and employee-centered culture.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and potential, providing continuous feedback and performance assessments.
  • Formulate and execute long-term strategies for the finance department that align with the overall objectives of the organization.
  • Prepare precise monthly and year-end financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage daily operations of the finance department, including payroll, collections, banking, and tax obligations.
  • Supervise the Accounts Receivable/Payable Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and Partner Experience to guarantee accurate and timely employee compensation.
  • Analyze and assess manufacturing costs to support the Business Development team in creating meaningful quotes and forecasts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget for the organization.
  • Maintain comprehensive books and records.
  • Implement and uphold internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and packages for external accountants.
  • Update accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Contribute to finance recommendations regarding the implementation of an ERP system.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by motivating team members to propose new ideas and processes that enhance efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of management experience is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting policies, computerized accounting systems, and job costing.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker who is hands-on and detail-oriented.
  • Highly organized and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction at all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid project management skills with the capability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • A collaborative team player with a focus on culture and diplomacy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in a computerized manufacturing accounting environment is preferred.
  • Experience with system implementation is advantageous.
