We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Intern to join our team at Assiniboine Park Conservancy. As a key member of our Animal Health Management Team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our animal collection.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and participate in the physical and chemical restraint of animals for examination and treatment.
- Create diagnostic and treatment plans for veterinary patients.
- Perform diagnostic, medical, or surgical treatments on animals.
- Conduct regularly scheduled immunization and preventive health care programs to maintain the health of animals.
- Monitor all zoonotic diseases and their impact on the collection and staff.
- Participate in zoonotic disease training opportunities for Animal Care and Veterinary staff.
- Must hold a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from a recognized educational institute (in good standing).
- A minimum one (1) year of post-graduate clinical experience.
- Experience involving work with zoo(s) or exotic animals is preferred.
- Eligibility for licensing as a veterinarian in the Province of Manitoba.
