Role Overview
Responsibilities:
- Conduct immediate evaluations and interventions for individuals presenting to the Emergency Department in crisis, experiencing severe psychiatric issues, addiction, or psychosocial challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with hospital staff in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Social Work, Nursing, or Counseling/Psychology, complemented by relevant experience in mental health and addiction services.
- Registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.
- A minimum of three years of recent, pertinent experience in crisis intervention within mental health and addiction contexts.
- Proven knowledge and application of best practice guidelines in crisis intervention and crisis theory.
- Exceptional assessment and counseling capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for individuals with severe and persistent mental health conditions.
- Proficient in developing care plans for individuals in crisis.
- Skilled in establishing and nurturing community connections and resources.
- A strong commitment to delivering quality customer service when interacting with the public (patients and families) and various clinical professionals.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient computer skills are essential.
- A solid attendance record.
Additional Information
The position requires flexibility in working hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, as the crisis program operates 24/7.
