Casual Custodian Job Description

Livingstone Range School Division is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Casual Custodian to join our team. As a Casual Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and disinfect all washrooms, fixtures, and partitions
  • Wash and sanitize all desks, counters, doors, windows, and other surfaces
  • Dust and vacuum all areas of the school
  • Mop, wax, and maintain all floors
  • Secure all Division buildings and ensure they are locked and alarmed
  • Collect and remove garbage and recyclables
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as tightening furniture and changing light bulbs
  • Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated initiative and good judgment
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 22 kg
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
Working Conditions:

The Casual Custodian will work in a variety of environments, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas. The position requires the ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a satisfactory police information check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to commencement of employment.
