The organization plays a crucial role in the new home warranty program, which covers nearly every new home in the province, backed by Ontario's builders and lasting up to seven years.
Role Overview
The Senior Information Security Analyst is tasked with fortifying the organization’s hardware, software, users, and network against cyber threats. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the company's IT infrastructure and technology landscape, alongside continuous monitoring and assessment of potential vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Threat Identification:
- Evaluate and report on advanced threats and vulnerabilities, focusing on enterprise-level IT controls.
- Assess security requirements during application development and acquisition, adhering to established security policies.
- Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments across various IT systems, identifying security weaknesses and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
Monitoring:
- Oversee the monitoring of security metrics and ensure the generation of detailed security reports.
- Enhance the Proactive Threat Management program to uphold high security standards.
Reporting:
- Analyze key cybersecurity metrics and produce comprehensive reports for senior management.
- Manage incident response activities and generate detailed security documentation.
Vendor Risk Management:
- Conduct security risk assessments of third-party vendors, addressing issues that may affect business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective vendor risk management.
Project Involvement:
- Support internal and external audits, providing strategic recommendations for information technology.
- Design and implement information security controls and develop standard configurations for IT systems.
Research and Development:
- Engage in advanced security research to stay updated on the evolving threat landscape.
- Lead initiatives to assess and adopt new security technologies within the organization.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Enterprise Network & Systems, Cloud Architectures, and Information Security frameworks. Experience in vulnerability management and incident response is essential, along with a commitment to compliance with standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
Essential Requirements:
- Community College Diploma in Cybersecurity or a related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in an IT security role.
- Strong analytical skills and a security-first mindset.
- Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, and incident response frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 Security Architectures.
