Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide critical support to individuals who are deafblind, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities- Support individuals in their home and community environments, promoting independence and autonomy.
- Utilize effective communication techniques to relay information and facilitate daily living activities.
- Empower individuals to participate and succeed in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, and volunteerism.
- Provide personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, medication administration, and other essential tasks.
- Assist in developing and supporting individual goals and objectives, ensuring a high level of quality of life.
- Contribute to program development, ensuring that services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract are required.
- A competitive wage starting at $23.03/hour.
