Job Summary:

An employee responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, minor maintenance, and security of a facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completion of a Building Service Workers' course or equivalent training and experience in an education environment.
  • Ability to care for and operate required equipment.
  • Utilization of good cleaning practices and procedures.
  • May be required to make minor job-related repairs to furniture and fixtures, but not exceeding 30 minutes per shift.
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully with public and other staff members.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Work with minimal supervision and possess good organizational skills.
  • May be required to have a valid B.C. (Class 5) Driver's License.
  • Minimum Grade 10 education.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is physically demanding and involves walking, standing, stooping, reaching, lifting, moving furniture, and carrying equipment in accordance with WorkSafe BC requirements.
  • Work is indoors in well-lit and heated buildings, with occasional outdoor work.
