JOB OVERVIEW:
As a janitor, you are essential in ensuring a pristine and secure environment for both guests and staff. Your responsibilities commence once the facilities close for the day and continue after all guests and personnel have departed. Your efforts guarantee that the premises are immaculate and prepared for visitors the following day.
This position requires working beyond standard hours, thus possessing a reliable 4X4 vehicle is necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Thorough cleaning of the entire day lodge each night, along with other buildings and lodges as per the weekly schedule. This includes areas such as Skier Services, IGS building, Hummingbird lodge, Mountain Ops, and Glory Lodge.
- Adhere to a checklist of nightly tasks that encompasses vacuuming, sweeping, waste disposal and recycling, mopping floors, sanitizing restrooms, spot cleaning windows, replenishing supplies such as tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, and hand sanitizer, as well as cleaning tables.
- Ensure tasks are performed safely while guests or other staff are present in the lodge, such as waiting to set up tables until all guests have exited or cordoning off areas to maintain safety.
- Implement all risk management protocols as outlined by Whitewater Ski Resort.
- Securely lock up lodges and activate alarms if applicable.
- Conduct radio checks with night groomers.
- Promote sustainable practices in daily operations, planning, and development.
- Support Whitewater's safety culture by reviewing and updating relevant documents, including Department Manuals and Employee Handbook.
- Work towards achieving departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to contribute to organizational objectives.
- Embrace and uphold Whitewater's mission statement and core values.
- Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
- Mature, reliable, and dependable.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Dependable vehicle, preferably 4x4.
- Availability to work evening shifts, until 10-11pm.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational and self-motivational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Capability to lift up to 50lbs.
