Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our inter-professional care team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a variety of settings, including ICU, Medicine, Surgery, Maternal/Newborn, Mental Health, Transitional Care, Reactivation Care Centre, and Seniors Health Centre. You will work independently and collaboratively to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and provide education to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care
  • Think critically and prioritize tasks to meet patient needs
  • Participate in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Assume a leadership role and demonstrate self-motivation in continuing education
  • Utilize technology and patient information systems to enhance patient care
Requirements:
  • Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
