Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join their Assisted Dying Program at Vancouver General Hospital. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients and families, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and clients, diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including health care management, therapeutic interventions, and medication prescribing.
  • Provide guidance and support to other healthcare professionals, participating as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals to identify trends and patterns that impact patient care.
  • Develop and implement population-based strategies to improve health outcomes, participating in policy-making and quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in peer, program, and self-review to evaluate patient outcomes at the individual, community, and population levels.
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development, maintaining competence in your role and privileges as an active medical staff member.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) plus 4 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
