Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Counter Clerk to join our team at Canada Post. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, processing transactions, and maintaining a high level of knowledge about our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience in our retail outlet.
  • Process financial transactions, including cash, cheques, debit, and credit card payments, accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about our postal products, services, and delivery options, and provide expert advice to customers.
  • Operate a computerized point of sale system, accurately and efficiently processing transactions and managing inventory.
  • Receive, sort, and sequence mail items, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Exercise physical effort in the handling of mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds), and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain floor displays, conduct merchandizing and inventory control, and ensure a visually appealing retail environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer service in a retail environment, with a proven track record of providing exceptional service.
  • Sales experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment tests, a security screening, and an interview.

Additional Requirements

This position may be considered a Safety Sensitive position and has additional requirements under Canada Post's Substance Use Policy.
