Clinical Laboratory Technician
In the role of Clinical Laboratory Technician at Shared Health, you will play a vital part in the laboratory operations by assisting with the organization, registration, and handling of biological samples under the guidance of the Lead Technologist. Your responsibilities will also include executing fundamental routine tasks and performing blood draws as required. Ensuring a secure working environment and adhering to quality control standards will be essential aspects of your position.
Key Qualifications:
- Prior relevant experience is advantageous
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent is necessary
- Graduation from a Medical Laboratory Technician program is preferred
- Certification from the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is desirable
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of medical vocabulary, sterile procedures, and standard practices
- Proficient typing skills, mathematical understanding, and strong communication abilities
- Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
- Able to perform under pressure while maintaining confidentiality
- Proficiency in both French and English may be necessary
- Ability to fulfill the mental and physical demands of the position
