ROLE OBJECTIVE:

This pivotal position will conduct audits of the Engineering Department's expenditures for unionized personnel in both Canada and the United States. The role aims to enhance education and ensure compliance regarding personal expenses as stipulated in the Collective Agreement provisions governing expense reimbursements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret and implement Collective Agreements related to expenses
  • Review and assess expense reports and claims
  • Identify trends and formulate suitable solutions
  • Recognize opportunities for process enhancements
  • Collaborate with operational officers concerning expense claims
  • Develop and disseminate directives and educational materials regarding the application of the Collective Agreement and expense processing requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education and/or relevant experience
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Labour Relations and/or auditing
  • Detail-oriented with robust analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in process development and optimization
  • Competent in Excel and the broader MS Office Suite, SAP ECC, including expense reports, time entry, and master data management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong work ethic, capable of meeting deadlines independently
  • Ability to foster positive relationships and influence across all organizational levels
  • Familiarity with Railway Engineering Services is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements and expense reimbursement policies is beneficial
  • Experience with Fiori and Concur Expense Tool is a plus

The successful candidate will be required to complete the following clearances:

  • Criminal history check
  • Reference check
