Are you passionate about enhancing healthcare outcomes? LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services, a reputable Canadian organization with over five decades of expertise, is seeking dedicated individuals.
As a Laboratory Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the specimen collection process, which includes welcoming patients and preparing specimens for transport.
This position is a part-time regular role with flexible hours, ideal for someone looking to balance work and personal commitments. There is also the potential to take on additional shifts at various LifeLabs locations.
The selected candidate will be required to work across multiple locations and must be available for all shifts, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and gather necessary information, explaining the specimen collection process while ensuring compliance with test protocols.
- Conduct phlebotomies, connect and disconnect Holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Carry out specialized test collections, including medical/legal drug screenings, paternity tests, and clinical trials, while completing all related documentation.
- Perform data entry for patient demographics, requisition details, and other information pertinent to processing test results.
Essential Qualities:
- Empathy and a customer-focused approach.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
Applicants should be graduates of an accredited Laboratory Assistant program or possess equivalent qualifications.
