Job Summary

The Investment Office at Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Investment Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Investment Management team, you will be responsible for executing the strategic direction and policy implementation for our combined $600M investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess investment options and direct investment purchases and sales on a regular basis using our in-house developed investment process.
  • Oversee the financial accounting and reporting aspects of the investment portfolios.
  • Provide leadership to the staff of the Investment Office, including Treasury Specialists and Financial Analysts.
  • Develop and foster good working relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Compose Board reports and presentations, and convey complex investment and financial results in an easy-to-understand way to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Professional designation: CPA or CFA.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting/reporting requirements (Generally accepted accounting principles specifically PSAS and ASNPO).
  • Passion for portfolio investment management.
  • Post-secondary degree in business/accounting/finance.
  • Hospital and not-for-profit experience preferred.
  • 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance/investing.
  • 3 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence actions of others.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to make decisions quickly.
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively to make high-stakes decisions.
  • Advanced communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
  • Effective team building and coaching skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 business applications and Tableau.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Confidence in influencing & interacting with executives & senior leaders.
