Job Title: Patient Care Aide

Queensway Carleton Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Aide to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic individual to provide support services to our interdisciplinary team and patients. As a Patient Care Aide, you will contribute to the efficiency and quality of patient care, working under the delegation and guidance of our nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the nursing team with patient care, ambulation, and repositioning
  • Transport patients within the unit using wheelchairs, stretchers, and as a walking escort
  • Respond to call bells and assist with hand hygiene before meals
  • Monitor and replenish patient safety supplies, such as hand sanitizer and patient restraints
  • Participate in unit and corporate programs, such as OHS initiatives and WHMIS training
  • Demonstrate QCH values, including collaboration, accountability, innovation, and respect
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 education
  • Knowledge acquired through an accredited health-related course
  • Able to maintain effective relationships with the unit team and patients
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Valid CPR certification level C
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work
