Responsibilities- Assist the nursing team with patient care, ambulation, and repositioning, ensuring the highest level of patient comfort and safety.
- Transport patients within the unit using wheelchairs, stretchers, and walking escorts, as directed.
- Respond to call bells and assist with hand hygiene before meals, clearing patient belongings from over-bed tables to ensure timely delivery of meal trays.
- Monitor and replenish patient safety supplies, such as hand sanitizer, patient restraints, and eyewash bottles.
- Participate in unit and corporate programs, including OHS initiatives, WHMIS training, and daily CPI huddles.
- Demonstrate Queensway Carleton Hospital's values of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and respect.
- Grade 12 education
- Knowledge acquired through the successful completion of an accredited health-related course
- Able to maintain effective relationships with the unit team and promote efficient operations
- Good organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid CPR certification level C and regular, reliable attendance at work
