About the Role

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Health Care Social Worker to join our team. As a member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide collaborative, holistic care on the primary to quaternary care continuum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build upon the strengths of patients/clients by focusing on existing coping strategies and problem-solving skills, past successes, and personal resources.
  • Use a client-/family-centered approach to provide care.
  • Develop and implement biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Collaborate with community partners to provide care.
  • Provide group facilitation and education.
  • Assist patients and families with navigation of local community resources and agencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.
  • 2 years' post BSW related clinical experience required.
  • Previous experience working in community-based setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competitive salary range of $33.97 - $42.89 Hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
