The Response Centre Specialist (RCS) plays a vital role within Loss Prevention Operations, responsible for overseeing company locations through advanced remote monitoring systems. Acting as the primary point of contact for our internal clients and partners, the RCS will respond to incidents with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring all documentation adheres to established protocols. The RCS will actively identify potential loss scenarios or threats and communicate effectively with stakeholders to implement necessary preventative measures. Additionally, the RCS may be required to undertake additional shifts at the store level as a Loss Prevention Officer I. Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard all company assets and minimize losses.
- Conduct remote surveillance of assigned company locations.
- Relay dispatch information to emergency services as needed.
- Provide assistance to our internal clients.
- Compile incident reports and evidence packages that comply with both company and legal standards.
- Perform daily compliance audits as assigned.
- Conduct telephone interviews as required.
- Hold a valid provincial security worker license with a security guard or security monitor designation (e.g., BST training).
- Completion of First Aid & W.H.I.M.I.S. training.
- Basic proficiency in computers, networks, and security systems (CCTV, remote video, access control, etc.).
- Knowledge of relevant criminal code sections related to Loss Prevention and evidence handling protocols.
- Familiarity with retail loss prevention and security practices.
- Educational background in criminology, emergency management, justice, or security management is advantageous.
- Strong adherence to business phone etiquette while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during critical incidents, demonstrating calmness and sound judgment in emergencies.
- Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment while maintaining objectivity.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality regarding all company information, procedures, systems, and investigations.
- Proficient in interviewing techniques to gather relevant information in a non-confrontational manner.
