Security Monitoring Specialist

About the Role
As a Security Monitoring Specialist, you will play a vital role in safeguarding company assets and minimizing losses. You'll be responsible for remotely monitoring designated locations, responding to incidents, and ensuring comprehensive documentation. Your proactive approach will contribute to preventing future security breaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect company property and reduce financial losses through vigilant monitoring and incident response.
- Utilize remote systems to monitor assigned company locations, identifying potential threats or suspicious activity.
- Effectively communicate with emergency responders, providing clear and concise information during critical situations.
- Provide support to internal customers, addressing their inquiries and concerns related to security matters.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and gather evidence packages for further investigation.
- Conduct compliance audits to ensure adherence to security protocols and regulations.
- Lead telephone interviews to gather information and assess potential risks.
Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A provincial security worker license with a security guard or security monitor designation.
- First Aid and WHMIS training to handle emergencies effectively.
- Proficiency in using computers, networks, and security systems.
- A solid understanding of criminal code sections relevant to loss prevention.
- Knowledge of retail loss prevention practices and strategies.
- An educational background in criminology, emergency management, justice, or security management is an asset.
