Job Overview
The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process complex financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, employee compensation, and benefits information.
- Provide seasoned advice and support to Accounting Clerks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processing.
- Reconcile unique and specialized transactions, requiring considerable judgment and attention to detail.
- Escalate issues to the team for resolution, ensuring effective and timely processing of transactions.
Requirements
- Grade 12 and post-secondary course financial/accounting courses, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of directly related full cycle financial transaction processing experience, and 1 year of directly related payroll transaction processing experience.
