Job Overview

Position :
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the effective service and installation of door and gate motor operators and controls, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and exceptional customer service. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include:

Executing electrical installations, including operator connections, controls, and sensors for various overhead door and driveway gate systems. Conducting tests, troubleshooting issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing effective solutions. Performing basic mechanical repairs and maintenance on overhead doors and driveway gate systems. Collaborating regularly with the service scheduler to address issues and communicate necessary parts. Engaging with both internal and external clients, including construction project managers, other trades, and safety personnel. Assisting fellow technicians with installations and service tasks as needed. Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills :

Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude. Focused on customer service with a robust work ethic. Team-oriented with a positive demeanor. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working at heights using ladders and lifts. Committed to safety practices.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

2-3 years of experience in the electrical field or possession of an Interprovincial Red Seal / Journeyman Electrician Certificate. Experience in a service or installation environment is advantageous. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Relevant safety training and certifications (e.g., Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, Standard First Aid) are beneficial. Experience with servicing or installing overhead doors is a plus. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat, and to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting, and kneeling. Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug, alcohol, and health assessments.
