About the Role

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Co-op Internship Coordinator in the Experiential Education Unit (EEU). This is a unique opportunity to support the development and implementation of the University of Toronto Mississauga Co-op Internship Program (UTMCIP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and foster relationships with potential and existing employers to promote work-integrated learning opportunities.
  • Liaise with contacts to facilitate and initiate outreach opportunities, fostering a strong network of industry partners.
  • Research and analyze potential employers to recommend student placement opportunities, ensuring a strong fit between students and employers.
  • Promote employer jobs and engagement on campus with students, enhancing the co-op experience.
  • Implement plans and process improvements for employer engagement activities, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and trends, applying this knowledge to support the co-op program.
  • Advise students on work-related recruitment processes and practices, providing valuable guidance and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience providing direct support to students in an experiential learning environment.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of best practices in advising, career coaching, and job search skills.
  • Experience developing and maintaining employer and/or industry partnerships.
  • Experience working with eLearning tools and learning management systems.
  • Experience in experiential learning program development and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with database management systems and ROSI.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex community and university policies and regulations.
