Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Education Professional to join our team as a Junior and Intermediate Classroom Resource Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing educational support to students in the Junior and Intermediate Divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational support to students in the Junior and Intermediate Divisions
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with multiple exceptionalities
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement inclusive instructional strategies
  • Use digital learning technologies and related applications to enhance instructional practice
  • Implement the principles of Universal Design for Learning, including using a balanced literacy and numeracy program
  • Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies, including Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques
  • Assume extra-curricular duties as required
Requirements
  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Junior and Intermediate Divisions
  • Special Education Part I
  • Preferred Requirements: Special Education Part II or Specialist, Additional qualifications in Reading
  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the above listed divisions
  • Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Sound knowledge of the IEP and IPRC processes and the planning for specific exceptionalities
  • Proven ability to implement effective inclusive instructional strategies
  • Knowledge, experience and commitment to integrating digital learning technologies and related applications
  • Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing the principles of Universal Design for Learning
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
  • Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team
