About the Role

This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. The successful candidate will assist the Engineering department with various duties, including collaborating on meaningful projects, providing technical support, analyzing data, and working to optimize process and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Engineering department with various duties
  • Collaborate on meaningful projects
  • Provide technical support on various key initiatives
  • Analyze data to support continuous improvement, recovery improvement, and cost reduction
  • Work to optimize process and productivity in collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and operations
  • May also be involved in design work and project management

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 2 years of an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program (or equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Demonstrated positive safety behavior and safety leadership
  • Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
  • Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
  • Motivation to set and achieve goals, take initiative, and nurture projects forward
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Preference will be given to candidates with mining or heavy industrial experience
  • 3D CAD skills, especially in Inventor, would be considered an asset but not required
