We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Ultra Maritime. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our supplier relationships and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement quality assurance strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct supplier assessments and audits to evaluate their quality management systems and performance.
- Provide quality input to supplier selection and development, ensuring that only the highest-quality suppliers are selected for our projects.
- Facilitate supplier performance reviews and maintain associated metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize supplier development needs and provide technical expertise to drive quality improvements.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective actions and process improvements as needed.
- Develop and deliver quality awareness training to project teams and ensure that all employees understand the importance of quality in our organization.
- Advocate for quality and its importance throughout Ultra Maritime, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Diploma, graduate degree, or equivalent work experience in a quality-related field.
- At least 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to travel to visit other Ultra Maritime sites and suppliers, as required.
- Experience in managing non-conformance reports, auditing, and supplier sourcing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and expertise to develop and execute objectives, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to interpret engineering drawings and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of IFS ERP and internal auditing experience, including lead auditor certification.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015, with experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems.
- Knowledge of AQAP/Defense Standards and IPC-A-610/620, with experience in auditing and assessing suppliers against these standards.
- Member of a relevant recognized chartered body, with a strong understanding of quality principles and practices.
