We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dock Worker to join our team at Manitoulin Transport. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of freight.
Key Responsibilities- Unload freight from trailers and load outbound trailers using electronic devices, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Mark materials with identifying information, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Record and verify the receipt and distribution of materials, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Count and weigh items to ensure conformance to shipper's specifications, maintaining a high level of quality control.
- Operate equipment such as heaters and placard trailers as required, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Arrange freight in a specified sequence to maximize trailer space, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse, including sweeping floors and proper storage of dunnage.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.
- Hold a valid G Driver's License and possess a WHIMS/Dangerous Goods Certificate (training provided).
- Developed problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and judgment skills, with the ability to multitask and manage various tasks successfully.
- Able to lift 50 lbs, with repetitive tasks, and operate internal computer systems.
