We are seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Social Worker to join our team at IWK Health Centre. As a member of our interprofessional team, you will provide social work services and family-centered care within the Women's & Newborn Health Program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide situational mental health support, crisis intervention, psychosocial support, discharge planning, and resource counseling to individuals and families experiencing physical, mental, or social complexities in pregnancy.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partnerships to facilitate resource acquisition and advocacy for clients' needs.
- Supervise clinical MSW student placements, teach, and participate in program development, evaluation, and research as needed.
- Masters Degree in Social Work required.
- Current license or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Social Worker with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) required.
- Minimum of two years related professional experience as a Masters prepared Social Worker preferred.
