Job Summary

The Royal Mental Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing education and training to nursing staff on clinical best practices, leading educational programs, and promoting excellence in client-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training
    • Develop and deliver educational programs to nursing staff on clinical best practices, including evidence-based practice and current trends in mental health care.
    • Assess learning needs and develop educational programs to meet those needs.
    • Collaborate with APNs on educational programs and initiatives.
  • Leadership and Clinical Expertise
    • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to nursing staff on patient care, equipment usage, and procedural tasks.
    • Lead educational programs and initiatives to promote excellence in client-centered care.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to provide consultation and clinical support.
  • Quality Improvement and Research
    • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to promote excellence in client-centered care.
    • Nurture an environment that supports knowledge translation and evidence-based practice.
  • Leadership and Professional Development
    • Guide and assist staff members in cultivating their professional roles and honing their skills.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff to promote professional growth and development.
    Qualifications
    • Four-year degree in Nursing.
    • Masters degree in Nursing or Health-related discipline.
    • Registration with RNAO preferred.
    • CPR training or re-certification within the last 12 months.
    • Three to Five years experience required.
    • Proven capability to guide change and assist staff during periods of transition.
    • Previous experience in a teaching or managerial position.
    Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Salary Range

$41.14 to $58.83 per hour
