Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $88,990 to $127,923.

Compensation is determined based on the applicant's qualifications, experience, and an internal equity review.

Position Overview:

In alignment with the organization's vision and values, the Manager of Pharmacy Initiatives will supervise pharmacy technology solutions and associated personnel, lead capital projects, and manage capital equipment.

This role involves providing leadership and support for departmental planning and the execution of strategic initiatives, special projects, and human resources management. The Manager will assist the Director in capital planning, departmental performance monitoring, quality improvement initiatives, and human resources management.

The Manager is responsible for promoting the application and integration of systems and tools aimed at enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and sustainability of Pharmacy Services across Interior Health Authority.

This position requires a strategic thinker with a collaborative approach, capable of engaging with staff at all levels within a complex, integrated health system.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy Services Leadership Team to provide guidance and support in planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality, resource utilization, safety, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate performance metrics for the Pharmacy portfolio. Collect and present performance data for both internal and external stakeholders. Analyze and disseminate information to the Pharmacy Services Leadership Team to formulate improvement strategies.
  • Facilitate the implementation of departmental quality improvement initiatives, ensuring coordinated monitoring of project outcomes and regular reporting to relevant groups.
  • Assist the Director in preparing and overseeing capital and operational budgets, aligning with departmental goals and objectives. Draft decision briefs and prepare business cases for significant capital submissions.
  • Lead and manage specific projects from planning and design through to implementation and evaluation.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments and portfolios on relevant initiatives to ensure inter-departmental collaboration, partner consultation, and strategic alignment.
  • Support portfolio leaders by monitoring and reporting on the progress of strategic initiatives.
  • Provide management expertise to clinical leaders within the portfolio, advising on human resources issues, financial management, quality improvement, and related business practices.
  • Manage employee grievances and progressive discipline in collaboration with departmental leaders, up to and including termination.
  • Participate in the development of LEAN innovation opportunities within Pharmacy departments and programs.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with IH's Occupational Health & Safety Program by complying with applicable regulations, responding to requests from regulatory bodies, identifying hazards, and implementing necessary corrective actions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
