Job Title: Shipper-Receiver

At Nickel City Steel Limited, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipper-Receiver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods and materials within our facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Determine the most effective method of shipment for goods and materials
  • Schedule the distribution of goods and materials to ensure timely delivery
  • Prepare and manage shipping documents, including bills of lading and invoices
  • Assemble and inspect containers and crates to ensure they are properly prepared for shipment
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming goods against invoices and other documents
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and shipments
  • Route goods to the appropriate storage areas and ensure they are properly labeled and tracked
  • Pack and unpack goods as needed to ensure they are properly prepared for shipment
  • Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods and materials
  • Supervise material handlers and helpers to ensure they are working efficiently and safely
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a shipping and receiving role
  • Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
