Job Description - Furniture Sales Supervisor

Overview

The Furniture Sales Supervisor is primarily tasked with guiding the furniture sales team and enhancing overall sales performance. This role is accountable for the furniture department's success, which includes managing merchandising, presentation, and recovery standards, as well as achieving sales targets. Collaborating closely with store management, the supervisor plays a crucial role in reaching operational goals and enhancing the overall performance of the store. In the capacity of Manager on Duty, this position provides leadership and direction to associates engaged in various activities, including customer service and sales operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and oversee the operational effectiveness of the furniture department, focusing on sales processes, team training, customer service, and merchandising standards.
  2. Offer clear guidance and coaching to team members on all aspects of the sales process, including product knowledge, competitive analysis, and customer engagement.
  3. Provide constructive feedback to store management regarding team performance and sales strategies.
  4. Assist customers with product inquiries, selections, and purchases while ensuring the delivery program is effectively communicated and understood.
  5. Manage the price hold process, including conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
  6. Maintain accurate inventory levels within the furniture department, conducting cycle counts to optimize sales and inventory turnover.
  7. Identify and address display needs promptly to ensure merchandising standards are met.
  8. Continuously strive to enhance the sales performance of the furniture department while maintaining high standards of merchandising, cleanliness, and customer service.
  9. Assume the Manager on Duty responsibilities as required, ensuring that all store standards are upheld, including merchandising, customer service, and operational cleanliness.
  10. Support the overall recovery efforts of the store as needed.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  2. A minimum of one year of retail sales experience is preferred.
  3. Proven skills in furniture merchandising and sales are advantageous.
  4. Strong customer service and communication abilities are essential.
  5. Physical capability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds is required, along with the ability to perform various physical tasks throughout the store.
  6. Availability to work a flexible schedule of at least 30 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
  7. Basic proficiency in English literacy, mathematics, and computer skills is required.
