About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Worker to join our team at High Q Greenhouses Ltd. As a Greenhouse Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and productivity of our greenhouse crops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weeding and Crop Maintenance: Regularly inspect and remove weeds from the greenhouse to prevent competition for resources and reduce the risk of pests and diseases.
  • Soil Preparation: Mix and prepare soils to ensure optimal growing conditions for our crops.
  • Planting and Transplanting: Plant bulbs and seeds, and transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings to maintain a healthy and diverse crop selection.
  • Fertilization and Irrigation: Apply fertilizers as needed to promote healthy growth, and manage irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage.
  • Pest and Disease Management: Monitor crops for signs of insect or disease damage and report any issues to management.
  • Plant Care and Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, and clean the work area to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Work Site Environment: The greenhouse environment can be wet/damp, hot, and non-smoking.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a rural area.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is required to ensure accurate and efficient work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in this field of employment is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 40 to 48 hours per week.
