Accounting Administrator

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing and payment of vendor invoices, expense reports, and preparing month-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and pay vendor invoices and expenses in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring G/L account code accuracy.
- Review and ensure authorization on each invoice or expense received, returning for necessary approvals if not provided.
- Question and follow up on incorrect codes, information, or authorizations provided, obtaining clarification and educating the submitter on the correct code and/or standard process to follow.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Aid with the preparation of cheque runs, match and distribute cheques to meet standard deadlines and payment dates.
- Respond to payment inquiries from vendors and/or internal departments in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional vendor service and resolving any outstanding questions and issues promptly.
- Facilitate new vendor requests and update vendor information as needed in Workday, maintaining the integrity of the data in the system, ensuring it is current and accurate, and conducting data reviews and closing out old or outdated vendors as needed.
- Prepare monthly Vendor Reconciliations and month-end Accruals.
- Provide cross-functional support to the finance team as needed.
- Assist with special projects as assigned and other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance.
- Prior accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
- Good understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook, and experience with Workday would be an asset.
- Strong customer service skills, supported by strong oral communication skills.
- Strong, clear, and persuasive communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy on all related information.
- Strong problem-solving skills, as well as research and resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
