Role Summary

We are seeking a Research Assistant to collaborate with Professor of Marketing, Dr. V Kumar. This research initiative aims to enhance the understanding of global business models. The Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting secondary research, reviewing literature, abstracting pertinent information, and transforming the findings into an engaging PowerPoint presentation. Additional tasks may be assigned throughout the semester based on the progression of the research project. While prior research experience is valued, it is not mandatory; a strong work ethic, punctuality in deliverables, and proficiency in MS Office applications (WORD, EXCEL, PPT, etc.), Adobe, and presentation creation are essential.

Compensation Structure

The compensation for this role is determined by evaluating the minimum educational qualifications necessary for the position and will not exceed the actual educational level of the incumbent. A Bachelor's degree (4th year completed) in business, computer science, or a related field is required.

Work Hours

The expected workload is approximately 15 hours per week, with standard vacation pay (4%) added to the hourly rate, along with additional mandatory government benefits costs (CPP, EI, Health Tax, WSIB) which approximate 10% on top of the pay rate.

  • Organizing, categorizing, and archiving documents for efficient retrieval.
  • Ensuring data quality and safety.
  • Committing to a minimum of 15 hours of work per week.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Brock University or another Ontario university.
  • Preferably pursuing a degree in Business or a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office software.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Eager to learn and develop new research skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficient in English with excellent time management skills.
