Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals for the role of Minor Official Lead. This position involves overseeing specific projects within the Athletics and Recreation sector, with a primary focus on providing leadership during SAIT Trojans athletic events. The Minor Official Lead will be instrumental in enhancing event engagement and promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Content Management
  • Engagement with spectators, managing ticketing and admissions, and creating an inviting atmosphere through music, lighting, and video.
  • Managing home game operations, including statistics, scoresheets, and game film.
  • Coordinating sport broadcasting and production logistics.
  • Overseeing sport media management and brand development.
  • Enhancing digital engagement through media and video promotions.
  • Leading the Trojans Broadcasting Crew.
  • Facility Management
  • Assisting with the setup and breakdown of event facilities.
  • Creating promotional content for social media and other digital platforms.
  • Managing Trojans digital channels and crafting game stories.
  • Developing home game scripts and exploring innovative digital content opportunities.
  • Coordinating pre-participation training and certification processes.
  • Event Execution
  • Fostering positive spectator relations and fan engagement.
  • Performing scorekeeping, timekeeping, and ticket office duties.
  • Managing mascot activities and providing sport-specific event support.
  • Overseeing video, photography, and graphic production for home games.
  • Handling DJ duties, announcing, and color commentary.
  • Engaging in esports shoutcasting and video analysis.
  • Facilitating special functions and additional opportunities as proposed by students.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Current students or alumni from ICT, Digital Media, Communications, or Production programs.
  • Experience in sports officiating or scorekeeping.
  • Proven conflict resolution skills.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior involvement with Trojans or Athletics & Recreation.
  • Willingness to travel within the city.
  • Availability for evening and weekend events.
  • Essential Skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in training and guiding new team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent time management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
