Supervisor Mechanical Job Description

Canadian Pacific Railway (CPKC) is a leading transportation company that connects a continent. As a Supervisor Mechanical, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our locomotives, mobile equipment, and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of maintenance personnel in performing repairs, inspections, and testing on locomotives, mobile equipment, and vehicles.
  2. Ensure all repairs and train servicing meet Association of American Railroad, Transport Canada standards, and CPKC policies.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve fluidity and achieve Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan.
  4. Provide leadership accountability for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
  5. Lead safety compliance within the terminal, providing corrective actions as needed to uphold standards.
  6. Conduct briefings to ensure accurate documentation and communication to the next Supervisor on shift.
  7. Mentor and coach team members through active observation and feedback.
Requirements:
  1. Valid driver's license required.
  2. 2 years' previous supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment preferred.
  3. Availability to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.
  4. Ability to drill down, understand root cause, and resolve complex issues.
  5. Excellent focus, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  6. Read and understand safety instructions, operating rules, and regulations in English.
  7. Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
