Job Summary:

Alberta Health Services, South Zone is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at the Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Department of Addiction and Mental Health call schedule to provide timely and effective care to patients.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient consultative services to patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Establish and maintain a Psychiatry practice in the community of Lethbridge, providing accessible and high-quality care to patients.
  • Reside in the Lethbridge catchment area to ensure proximity to patients and colleagues.
  • Obtain and maintain AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and AHS Policies to maintain a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must:

  • Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry.
  • Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
  • Hold certification or additional training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
