Job Title: Plant Maintenance Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at StevenDouglas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to achieve operational excellence and maintain operational cost controls.
  • Work closely with the production team to execute the maintenance plan effectively, supporting them through planning, scheduling, ordering, and preparing materials and tools required for maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the safety of personnel and assets by completing regular training on all health and safety standards and environmental guidelines.
  • Monitor work performance and address situations that do not conform to standards immediately.
  • Oversee the maintenance of fixed and mobile equipment, ensuring it is properly maintained and repaired to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure environmental compliance, rehabilitation, and compliance with operational permit obligations.
  • Investigate abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine the cause and make adjustments, repairs, and/or modifications as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and support functions such as HR, Payroll, and Benefits.
  • Supervise and coordinate the plant and mobile maintenance team to maintain productivity levels, efficiency, and safety while managing the assigned area with fiscal integrity.
  • Develop and implement strategies for achieving continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity of the main production plant and mobile fleet.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in Open Pit Mining and processing.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management principles and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
