Job Summary
As a Nurse Specialist with BioScript Solutions, you will have the opportunity to provide top-notch patient care services in a dynamic and patient-centered environment. With our low nurse/patient ratios, you will be able to apply your exceptional assessment, clinical, and interpersonal skills to make a meaningful impact on our patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer specialized IV and injection therapies to patients.
- Receive and review physician's orders to ensure accurate and timely care.
- Perform patient assessments to identify and address their unique needs.
- Initiate IV lines and perform phlebotomy to ensure efficient and safe care.
- Provide patient education and support to promote healthy behaviors and outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of recent acute care experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and current registration in good standing with the provincial licensing body.
- Training and experience in the preparation and administration of medications via all routes.
- Excellent intravenous skills required.
- Training and experience with CVADs will be seen as an asset.
- Must have current BCLS certification.
- Able to read and interpret technical instructions related to client care.
